Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Sizing

Do you offer custom sizing?

Yes — every piece in the Diva by Sangeeta Ranka collection is available in custom sizing at no extra charge for sizes S to XL. For sizes above XL, an additional charge of 10% applies. To order a custom size, select "Custom" from the size dropdown when purchasing, and write your measurements (bust, waist, hip, shoulder width, and height) in the order notes or email us at divabysangeetaranka@gmail.com after placing your order.

How do I measure myself for custom sizing?

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso. Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, about 8 inches below the waistline. Shoulder: Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other across the back. Height: Your full height in feet and inches or centimetres.

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up and selecting custom sizing for the best fit. Several of our shirts and kurtas run larger than usual — we note this on the individual product pages. When in doubt, email us with your measurements and we will advise.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Once an order has been placed, we are unable to make changes including cancellations, address changes, or alterations to the order. Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase.

Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary by product type and are listed on each product page. As a general guide: shirts and dresses ship in 7–14 days; kurta sets and occasion wear in 15–20 days; skirt sets and embroidery-heavy pieces in 20–28 days. All domestic shipping across India is free.

Do you ship internationally?

Please contact us at divabysangeetaranka@gmail.com to enquire about international shipping for your specific location.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can track your order on the shipping partner's website using this number.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return my order?

We do not offer returns as every article is made to order. However, we accept exchanges within 15 days of delivery for defective or incorrectly sized items. Please contact us at divabysangeetaranka@gmail.com within 2 days of receiving a defective item with your order details and photographs.

What if my item has a defect?

Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us immediately if you receive a defective or incorrect item. Share your order details and photographs within 2 days of delivery. After review, we will re-fulfil your order with the correct or replacement piece.

Fabric & Care

How do I care for chanderi fabric?

Chanderi should be dry cleaned only. If steam ironing, use a low setting on the reverse side of the fabric to avoid dulling the lustre. Store folded in a clean cotton cloth — avoid hanging as it can stretch the fabric over time.

How do I care for Irish linen?

All Diva linen pieces should be dry cleaned. If ironing, use a steam iron while the fabric is slightly damp for best results. Linen softens beautifully with each clean — it is a fabric that improves with age and wear.

Can I wash my Diva piece at home?

We recommend dry cleaning for all pieces, particularly those with embroidery, applique, or pintak detailing. Home washing risks damaging the craft work and the fabric. All pieces come with care labels — please follow the instructions carefully.

Craft & Fabric

What is pintak?

Pintak is Diva's signature craft technique — a Rajasthani tradition of hand-folding and stitching tiny pleats of fabric onto the garment surface to create a raised, three-dimensional texture. Each pintak is stitched individually by hand. No two pintak pieces are identical. You can read more about pintak in our blog post: What is Pintak?

What is chanderi fabric?

Chanderi is a silk-cotton weave from Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh — a fabric with centuries of history and a characteristic sheerness and lustre that no other fabric replicates. Read more in our complete guide to chanderi fabric.

What is kantha embroidery?

Kantha is an ancient embroidery tradition from Bengal — a running stitch worked in rows across the fabric surface. At Diva it appears on shirts and dresses, either by hand or machine, creating a dense, textured pattern that is both decorative and structural.

What is zardozi embroidery?

Zardozi is Mughal-era metal thread embroidery — one of India's most precious and demanding craft traditions. Gold and silver threads are stitched in intricate patterns, often accompanied by sequins and semi-precious stones. At Diva, zardozi appears on the Zardozi Kurta Set.
